I\u2019ll take the lyrics of a song each week and create a story from them. Sometimes I may tell you the song, sometimes not. I\u2019m not sure about that yet. Comments always welcome. The idea is to get some writing practice. The Friday blog will be about writing skills and techniques.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Here\u2019s today\u2019s story:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I played the message again. I couldn\u2019t bring myself to delete it. What do you mean, you don\u2019t want to see me? You know I love you. I\u2019ll do anything for you.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">It\u2019s been a week now and I\u2019ve been leaving messages every day but you don\u2019t return my calls. Then when you do, you say you\u00a0don\u2019t need me anymore. I can\u2019t believe that. What does that mean, anyway? You don\u2019t need me anymore?\u00a0Don\u2019t you want me by your side? Don\u2019t you want me there, loving you?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">It\u2019s been five years since we got together. Five years of happiness. When I met you you were no-one to me, just a casual fling with a waitress. I enjoyed our time together. You grew on me. I was so busy running the company and you were my fun, my escape. I grew to love you quickly. We spent every spare hour together.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I helped you get your career going really, didn\u2019t I? Look at you now, so successful. It was me that spotted your talent and got you on the first rung of the ladder. Now you throw it back in my face.\u00a0It\u2019s going to be no good changing your mind, you know. It\u2019ll be too late then, when you find that you need me after all. I\u2019ll be gone and we\u2019ll both be sorry.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The phone rang and I picked up quickly.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I gulped. \u201cHi, how are you?\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I hear your soft tones. \u201cWe\u2019ve had five years of good times.\u201d There\u2019s sadness in your voice. \u201cI still love you, but I need to move on. I need to live life on my own.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I start to cry. \u201cI can\u2019t believe it. You\u2019re actually leaving me. I\u2019ve done so much for you. I need you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I hear a soft click on the line.
